well, my friend tells me it looks like it's a telegraph form of some sort, most of the filled in script writing is numbers, and the first line of the stamp says "postage". He's working on the rest, there appear to be many abbreviations on the printed form.

There is a character on the top line of the form - 7th letter to the left of the scroll-work in the heading - that is unique to Farsi, therefore this is very likely from Persia (Iran). |

There is a line right below the stamp labeled "date", but the number filled in does not seem to make sense: 858.
also to the right of the stamp, kind of floating out there, not on any line there is a 4 number sequence: 1958. This looks like 190(backwards 7).

The large printed numbers may have some significance. They are from left to right: 15283. Is that a serial number? |

Indeed, it looks exactly like mine. If I understood well all the translations, it is a 1952 telegram receipt number 15283 from Persia , for the payment of 17 Dinar for 57 words used on the telegram. The stamp its a tax for Hospices and orphanages.
Thanks for the link, that post was an interesting lecture. |
