Good day to all. I would appreciate if someone in the forum may be able to assist me with questions pertaining to these 4 stamps. The first two pre cancel markings appear to have a different design that I have seen previously with precancels with straight lines. Can someone please elaborate about these specific stamps? Are they common pre cancels?
The last two stamps I am wondering if they would be considered as Scott 423a and 423 b. Apparently Scott expresses there are 53 used examples of the 423a, and 20 precanceled Chicago inverted as well as Quincy,Il. on George Washington 1 cent green.
The 423b, 32 known with Dayton OH. Is the Ohio suppose to be an abbreviation instead of full spelling of the state, or does this matter or not? Not sure if it is an electroplate or another manner for those two stamps.
I would appreciate any information pertaining to these questions.
I received a large amount of precancels today and vendor had no idea about them and sold the lot for a limited price. He has no values known on them at all. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
