Are this forgeries? All have a small red circle-cancellation with "Kuhl & Co.

Thanks for answer.

Maybe best to send it to experts. Atleast there is no facsimile printed on it.

Some for comparison.

I believe that the facsimiles carried it higher on the stamp. Here is a picture of a faked stamp, the facsimile tag has been covered by a cancel and this stamp was being passed off as real in a ebay listing.

I am not comfortable making a call on the OP stamp, my knowledge is limited in the area. Looks pretty good to me but hopefully others will weight in.

It does not look engraved to me.

I have a couple in my collection. I purchased these years ago as facsimiles off ebay. They are typographed on a thicker paper than originals. I did a google search for Lichtdruck Kuhl & Co. Frankfurt a.M. Possibly a publisher? Their name comes up in auction catalogs from turn of the century.

These would also be considered facsimiles, not forgeries.

"Lichtdruck" in English is "photolithography" or a similar term for a printing method. The very light impression on these stamps shown appears clearly as not engraved. German and other foreign printers were big at reproducing scarce US stamps at the time they were current and often, perhaps usually, offered to collectors to fill spaces in albums otherwise that would remain empty. Newspaper stamps also were handled similarly.
