Hi to all
I came across this in a box of junk that I bought.
Would this be classed as partially imperf, as the top has no perforations.
I know it is not in good condition, and I have show the back as well to show that it was possibly going to have perfs, but they did not complete, anyway that is the best way I can explain it.
All opinions always appreciated.

Regards

Horamakhet

Hi Horamakhet, The stamp is perforated at the top as well but it has been cut with scissors above the perforations that haven't been separated. The stamp is poorly centered and this has resulted in the appearance shown in the scans. In reality, you have one stamp plus a bit of the stamp above it.

but this is not a "perforated" stamp at all... it is rouletted.

Yes, you are right filipo. They are rouletted. I should have seen that. According to one of my catalogues it appears to be dated at 1897-1898 with watermark 6. There was a series of zigzag roulettes in a variety of colours (black, green, plain or roulette combinations with perforations on other sides) for this issue. I still think scissors have been used above the top roulette line.

Hi to all

Thanks for that, much appreciated.
I bought a box of junk and there are thousands of stamps world wide in it. Months of sorting, but heaps of fun.

This stamp is a good example of why the zig-zag roulettes were discontinued and sent back for perforation. They were hard to separate and many probably ended up looking like this!
