Wow great service at Barefoot, I inquire this afternoon about the English printed version, a I already get a reply
"We are working on a new edition and hope to get this into print this year.
I will keep your email on file and inform you when the new book becomes available."

My old Michel Oesterreich-Spezial does not contain revenues. Another option is the Erler / Hagn "Catalogue of the Adhesive Revenue Stamps of Austria". It is in German and English. It contains documentary tax, advertisement tax, calendar tax, and stock transfer tax stamps. There are nice details on perforation and paper varieties. My 1978 edition has 113 pages and (lucky for me) some notes by the previous owner. Got this one on ebay for $8-10 in the 'good old days' Keep in mind that prices in the Barefoot catalogs tend to be on the high side. Erler catalogs put prices a little too low. |

Erler published at least 5 volumes of Austria. Hummel Book has I-IV for sale on their website. The fifth is the volume covering the Austro-Hungarian Military Border. It's currently for sale at Philathek. |

Area66, the answer is yes, It is Erler's volume 1. The documentary tax stamps take up 75 or so pages. |

Well I will put Philatek in the list of dealer to not deal with After paid few days ago I ask the status and it's not in stock They don't care to inform me before I asked . Same experience with subway and Amos Their website is barely usable to order , I was not able to pay with Credit card as you have to select the type, with Google the scroll list have nothing, with IE, you have a list invisible. When you click Paypal it's said the recipient can accept Paypal, you have to do it manually. Phil Bansner from http://philbansner.com a very good guy to deal with. He even refund the extra I paid for shipping. |

Quote: ff topic but you just helped my identify a stamp from my unknown stockbook. It doesn't look like much but it has a home now. I can't answer that without having the stamps in hand, you have few different perforations, watermark or not and different paper, some very hard to see the difference without an acid test. All I can say it's a 1858 stamps # 44 in Erler catalogue, 1978 price ranging from 30 cents to $ 3 depending on the variety, But if you can't ID it , price is 15 cents your's is in very very bad shape. |
