I found this in my family's stamp collection and would like to know more about its history.

If I'm reading it correctly, it was worth 200 Marks and may have been cancelled on 15 December 1880.

I included a photo of the back of the paper to which it is adhered, in case that helps.

This German bill of exchange revenue stamp is from the series of 1 July, 1879. It is the low value (0,10) of the set of 17 which range from 10 pfennigs to 30 marks. In the 1988 Erler-Norton revenue catalog it is # AJ65 with a used value (in sound condition) of $.05.

Monnaie, I believe the 200 Mark you read is not quite that. The 'wechsel stempel' reads "von 200 Mark und weiniger" if I read that correctly. That means that this postal money order stamp was good for an amount lower than 200 Marks.

To state it correctly, the 10 pfennig charge (M.0,10...the face value of this stamp) was the amount paid for transactions up to 200 marks in value. The 17 stamps in this set state the transaction range for which the stamp fee was applicable.
