Beautiful album pages, Rod222 and words of wisdom from so many others.
French stamps are so classy - and production quality and topics are always excellent.
Threads like this have re-ignited my interest in my schoolboy French collection.
Marianne defs are especially interesting, a good catalogue is essential - found a (Spink)Maury 2016 on a well-known online vending site, invaluable.
Now I am trying to fill the gaps! |

Rid - From memory, "guillotined" refers to a scissors-looking cut, rather than the "natural" perf look you'd find on non-coil stamps. |

Many thanks Geoff, for your time on my behalf. I am using also, "Gibbons Stamp Monthly" September 2007 (Author : Ashley Lawrence) (I always wondered why I kept the squillions of "La Semeuse" , I just remain fascinated by the design) |

Marianne Gandon, Selvedge markings. Plate Lines. I know them incorrectly as "Jubilee Lines" found on Brit. stamps, printed during Queen Victoria's Jubilee. |

Rod - the "TB seals" are simply standard charity stamps listed in the main body of catalogues (Yvert 736, SG 948), designed by Barlangue, engraved by Cortot. |
