I have a few full sheets to mount in a Scott National album. I've been using a glue stick to mount smaller Showgard so far and it seems to be working well.

Any suggestions about mounting these full sheet mounts? I hate that the sheets will cover the Text and description at the top of the Scott page but don't see a way around that.

Thanks,

George

I've put some sheets in plastic sheet protectors. See photo:

Hi George

For US sheets, The Scott sheet album is a option. I have a few Ecuador sheets that will not fit that album. I used Lighthouse or Linder, it has been a long time, sheet pages which are larger than the Scott pages.

Alub: It seems that you have left the sheets in the original USPS package. I would recommend taking them out of that packaging. There have been cases in which the packaging has ruined the sheet as the packaging is not archival. The Scott, or Showgard, sheet album is relatively inexpensive and extra pages are available. Also, the album is fairly decent looking.

In the following link look on page 2 for the Scott and Showgard sheet albums. They are approximately $18 and have

Jerry,

Note that alub is showing the "Recalled Legends of the West" sheet in this example. That particular sheet continues to carry a slight price premium in the original packaging, which contains a special imprint, so some collectors continue to retain the packaging in that case. Doing so comes at the risk of long-term damage from the non-archival USPS plastic sheeting, as you note - I don't disagree with that.

Hi Chris

I did not notice what he had. I am not a US collector so I had no idea that the error sheet commanded a premium. Thanks for the tip.

Scott Mounts makes an entire series of mounts sized for various full panes/sheets. All those listed sell for $7.29 per package.

Note that the Legends of the West pane takes mount # 1000.

For full US postage sheets of 50, I use #961, which is a 265mm strip 231mm tall. A pack of 4 mounts is $12.99 USD.

All Scott mounts can be ordered either totally clear (order #1000) or with a black background (order #1000B). Most stamp supply shops carry them or you can order from Amos Advantage direct, or from http://stores.nolastampshop.com/

Here's #2869 in a #1000B Scott Mount in the Scott U.S. Commemorative Plate Block Album.

The album page is larger than my scanner can accomodate, but you get the idea.

Side note: I added Scott catalogue numbers to every stamp and plate block album page using self-adhesive clear label stock (8½x11) in my printer. A lot of work, but once it's done, the result is worth it and easy to keep up.

At the moment, for "full" size sheets, I do something similar to Alub, but I use 1-pocket Vario pages.
