Well, the kiddies are off to school (University that is). So the missus and I are once again empty nesters, but a messy nest it is. In their effort to pack and get out, they both left plenty of mess behind. And of course, guess who gets to clean that up!
Looking through a box of old books my oldest had abandoned, I found an old scrap book, filled with newspaper clippings from the 1930s and 40s. Seems my daughter is a 'collector' like me.
Leafing through I was soon confronted with this face.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Sir William Mulock. Sir William was, among other things, Postmaster General of Canada from 1896 to 1905 and is responsible for giving us the Imperial Penny Post and the Canadian 1898 Xmas map stamp.

Don't know the year of this publication, or even which newspaper it came from, but since the caption reads that Sir William is nearing his 95th birthday, and he was born in 1843, I guess that would put this clipping at 1938.
Datelines of a couple of stories on the back are January 13.
