I have posted before about issues with these due to the mounts not lying flat on the page.

I have been remounting some collections using them and have discovered that if I use a mount one size larger this is not an issue. Of course you need to use clear mounts. For stamps measuring 25mm high, I use a 27 size. For 41 I use a 44 and so on. There is just a small tab at top and since the mount is clear it is almost not noticed. Just thought others might find this useful.

I use clear split-back mounts and I may try this idea when needed. Even when using split-back mounts, I like to use a mount about a millimeter or so larger than the stamp as it makes it easier to remove and add a stamp back in if I upgrade it. It can get kind of tricky sometimes removing or inserting a stamp from a split-back mount after it's on a page, and giving a little extra room means a little extra room for error. The stamp is just as secure in a mount a mm or so too large, but of course this looks best with clear mounts.

I do the same as you, Stamps1962. Except I use black backed mounts. They all lie nice and flat.

I have noticed you usually need to increase the mount size for self-adhesive stamps. They are thicker than water activated so crowd the space and if also close on height they do not like to lay flat. I am also using 27mm high mounts more instead of 25 for most PSA types.

I tend to do the same thing. Only problem is that Showgard doesn't make a 26mm mount. Scott does, however.

Ha. I never noticed that and I have ordered Scott mounts twice in the last month. I prefer Scott/Prinz.

27mm is the standard for me. No issues.
