I am trying to find the CEI (Catalogo Enciclopedico Italiano) 2004-2006 catalog of Old Italian States (Antichi Stati).

I cannot find any available copy of it via web searches. If you have it for sale, or if you know somebody who does, please, let me know.

Thank you.

A possible alternative is to borrow it from a philatelic library. I did a search in the Philatelic Union Catalog after first checking at the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library in Denver, which is closest to you. The APRL in Bellefonte has the 2004/2005 edition; you would have to join the APS (www.stamps.org) and then borrow it. The Western Philatelic Library next door to me in Redwood City, CA also has the same edition; same deal, you have to join to borrow I believe. I didn't find any listings for the 2005/2006 edition.

Search link:

Still another possibility is to contact Giorgio Migliavacca through the APRL in Bellefonte. He reviews almost all acquisitions of the APRL that are in Italian, and may be better positioned to recommend a source for this item.

Chris

Thank you, Chris.

I am an PAS member but I would rather own a catalog than borrow it. If I am unable to find this CEI catalog for sale, I shall follow your advice, and write to Mr. Migliavacca.

Sounds like you need to reach out to the international market. Go on ebay and send a message to European dealers. I'm hoping you have an understanding of Italian.

I've been on ebay for 17 years. I can read Italian.

I wrote to dozen Italian stamp and book dealers.

No cigar. CEI 2004-2006 Antichi Stati is not available anywhere.
One Italian dealer looked for it for 2 months, and came up empty-handed.

Some CEI catalogs (Vatican/San Marino, Luogotenenza, Reppublica) can be found on DelCampe site but not this one. To a paranoid person it might seem that Sassone buys up all second-hand copies of this competing CEI catalog (which is much better and cheaper than theirs).
