I posted to various topics to gather information when starting this project so I wanted to share the results with y'all.

There is a frame for each primary Scott # through 1949 including booklet singles but excluding the multitude of varieties. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

I used AlbumEasy to do the design and I was very pleased with how simple it was to use. I already had most of the information I needed in and inventory spreadsheet I keep and that greatly simplified creating the statements needed to lay out the frames on the pages.

I bought a half ream of 110-pound card stock in ivory since Office Max had nothing heavier than 60-pound. Printing the pages on my stock cost less than $10.00.

I bought Hawid strips for the mounts and cut them using the Fiskars guillotine paper cuter shown below. I struggled for a bit over the way to make repeated cuts of the same length and finally put together the adjustable stop block in the image below from scraps in my work shop. Thankfully, I have a planer that allowed me to get the base cut down to needed height.

I used an Elmer's Craft Bond glue stick to mount the mounts to avoid the issue of moisture transfer in the paper. A small smear on the back of the mount and on the paper created a very solid bond.

The one change I would make if I had it to over again is I would have cut each mount to exactly the same width as the frame. Cutting them 1mm shorter on either side made aligning them more difficult. Live and learn.

So here are three pages to give you taste of the finished project. You'll note that there are a few empty frames on the second page that I would be happy to offer for storage of examples you have and no longer need .

Thanks to everyone who provided help.

Terry

Congratulations tlmcca - Well made pages - looking both classic and classy! I agree with you concerning the size of the mounts, looks even better when they match the box. Next time!

Clever invention - however this cutter will ease your work and take less room on your desk: https://www.leuchtturm.com/epages/l...ducts/319565
edit: - Just to clarify - this cutter has an adjustable stopper installed, a bit easier to handle than your arrangement

Good luck on your future DIY pages -

Blaamand,

I looked at some of the special purposes cutters such as the one you reference but chose the Fiskars device as being of more general use.
