Hi folks, long time lurker, first time poster. I have read with interest the many great discussions and reviews on this site regarding choices for US stamp albums. My question is, do any of you know if the most recent printings of Mystic's basic American Heirloom album display the Scott numbers in such a way that the mounted stamp DOES NOT cover the catalog number anymore? I know that their hingeless album shows the Scott numbers below the stamp boxes, but the standard (non-hingeless) pages used to work differently. I am trying to choose between the two options, so any help would be appreciated!

greenscatalog,
I am a big MYSTIC album fan with supplements up thru 2015. The Scott's numbers are inside their respective boxes and the black backed Showgard mounts cover them.

I bought a new edition to catch up on some pages and mounted stamps still covers the catalog number. I have seen that Mystic does not have a space for every major number. It is almost 100% but not 100%. I can recall at least 3 or 4 issues not included. One was the 23c Washington booklet stamp where one side had different die cuts from the right side. Editions prior to 1998 or so did not have numbers and stamps were not in catalog order. Now, Mystic has numbers and stamps are generally in catalog order so more organized like Scott.
I will create my own thanks to Andy. I changed the style to put the top above the stamp and the number inside the box below the stamp. |

Thanks for your help. It seems remarkably difficult to get accurate details from the publishers' websites or other advertising. I asked Mystic's customer service to send me a few sample pages, so that should help. |

Sure angore, that would be great! I'm not sure I understand all of the policies on this site regarding giving out personal info in a public forum, am I allowed to just include my full email in a message? |

angore, I tried that but because I have fewer than 50 posts, it doesn't work. So here it is but in verbal form so that the robots can't interpret it: greenscatalog *** AT *** google *$* mail $$$ dot $$$ commercial. Remove the spaces, asterisks, and dollars, and abbreviate the provider as per their normal address. Make sense? |
