Any theories as to how the super jumbo came about? Don't see much evidence of adjacent stamps in the perfs.

To the OP's 8c stamp, I've definitely seen, on some early US stamps, where the top and bottom row stamps, have, on occasion, gotten perforated like this. I would speculate, based upon what I can see of the 8c queen here, that it is likely a bottom row stamp.

Here are a few jumbo small queens of each denomination. The second 6¢ may not be a jumbo, but it is possibly the best centered copy of a particular variety. (and the 2nd ½¢ has a nice reentry). Enjoy. Chip |

hornet - that jumbo attached to narrow stamps example is really interesting. It appears that the vertical perforations for that column were incorrectly set. What I have seen in the past is where, essentially, the horizontal perforations for either the top or bottom row were incorrectly set - above the top or below the bottom. |

Chipg, thanks for posting Scott/Unitrade 43c, the 5c on 6c major re-entry. That is definitely one I would like to find and add to my collection some day. |

Here an example of what you wrote about. Bavarian, Pfennigzeit Wappen (comb perf) 1889-1911 with the top horizontal row not correctly set. Best regards Sylvain |
