txstamp, Thanks a bunch for the information & possible Plate Position! Admittedly, I have no idea what the Position is(I'm not very good with TII). I will definitely make note of the possible Positions, you mentioned here, when I submit for Plating. I still haven't sent this stamp away yet; waiting on a couple more to arrive. Can't seem to quit searching & buying 1c Blue Franklins. I will definitely put up the findings here(if any).

Sorry for divided pics; can't seem to resize file to acceptable size.

I suspect this is a Plate 3 Type II. The color looks right for Plate 3. Also looks like there are some fine cracks in the "O" of "ONE" & possibly more fine cracks on right side of design. Any input appreciated!

Nice stamp. That "O" marking looks very familiar to me ... I'm pretty sure I've either seen it or had one previously, but I don't remember what it is.

jmt - Deep Cert plated your stamp to 29R3.
I will post a scan he sent me when I have time.

A reference 29R3 from Deep Cert.

"This position is in the Armitage block, which shows the dot in E of POSTAGE better. There are a several faint cracks."

jmt - you have a good eye for the 1c stamp. Good job.

Thanks again for helping narrow down the position txstamp(& Deep Cert); much appreciated! I imagine he will probably be called in to Plate this stamp, when I send away for Plating Cert.

I sent out the other 2 suspected Plate 3 stamps, I shared earlier in this thread. I added what positions the stamps were possibly from. I received the stamp from 46L12; enjoyed it for about 30 minutes, then mailed it away for Plating. I'll be happy when they're back to me.

jmt - If I may ask, to what organization are you sending these stamps, to be plated?

txstamp, I use & have full confidence in The One Cent Franklin Plating Archive; run by Richard Doporto. I think their certs are nice looking & only cost $16(for single, or multiple) + insurance for amount of your choosing. Their service is usually very speedy; usually back in about 2 weeks. The longest I've ever had to wait was about a month. I think they had a bunch of submissions before mine & I sent over 15 items.

I know they use multiple Plating Experts, especially for the tricky submissions(I kinda figured that & he told me). There were multiple Platers used for figuring out I had found the second known 60R3. Also the current owner sent scans of his stamp for comparison.

For plate 3 platings, one kind of needs reference material, which very few people have.

I'm fairly sure that Deep Cert stays in touch with Doporto, so I expect that you will be fine there. I agree that Doporto seems to have done a pretty good job at his plating business.

I agree there's not very many people out there that are good at plating Plate 3; myself included. I'm sure Deep Cert will most likely be called upon to look at my Plate 3 stamps(maybe others too). I'm very thankful for the Platers involved.

I have over 75 One Cent Franklin Archive Certs & I've easily had them Plate over 100 stamps for me. Some of my stamps have a regular certificate & a Franklin Plating Cert. I'm sure you've seen them before, but here's a sample of one(also one of my favorites).

That 99R2 is nice in that it shows the whole bottom of 89R2 as well, which is always a good thing.

I remember being the underbidder on that one ...

As I recall, it was not recognized for what it was by the seller.

I have considered sending a couple of stamps to get that cert.
I would like to see them give a number grade on it as well.
One is a 5R1L that I recently purchased and a 21L1L.
I have a #7 that I have no clue on how to plate.

How do you display your stamps and certs?

Here is the 5R1L

Can anyone give me a clue to find this plate position and type?
I bought it but have not received it yet to get a better resolution.
