Wait for the stamp. In the meantime you have a top row T relief. My best guess from the poor scan based on the break in the bottom line between C and E of Cent and the shortness at lower left is 2L1e.

Can you tell if the dot indicated by the arrow below is part of the design?

9R2 has a similar dot.
I'm not in a position right now to study it but I'd lean towards plate 2 - and I'd start with 9R.

I cannot tell at this point about that stray dot. I will need to get a better scan.

That 2L1E does look like a close match (other than that dot). Looking close at the left corner, the right red arrow dot looks right, the left red arrow dot looks a bit to the right. The marks not noted that I circled, seems to have a faint match.

That stamp looks more like it's from Position 1L1E. The dot below the "O" of one isn't in the right spot to be 2L1E. The dot below & to the right of the "O" is cancel(indicated by blue arrow). There is also a tiny line below the break in the curved line, as found on 1L1E(it's pretty hard to see in scan).

I do like the Perforated 99R2, thanks for sharing! I remember that stamp well & contemplated buying, every time I saw it on ebay. Would have made a nice match with the imperforate 99R2! I found mine on ebay as well, from n*st*mps (bad word here?). Surprisingly they actually figured it out that it was a #8, but not from Position 99R2.

rgstamp thank you for the welcome.

I suppose the best thing I can do here is post some plate three material. I will put some things together.

Note the curl in N of cent in 11 R3. This curl recurs in 31R3 although not shown in Neinken as the reference available to Ashbrook and Neinken had a cancel in that area of 31R3.

Welcome njs900. Its very good to be talking 1c stamps with you again.

njs is an old friend, who is one of the most talented 1c platers that I've ever worked with. In the early 1990s, a 1c study group was formed, consisting of njs, Deep Cert, myself and a number of other friends. It was a lot of fun.
