Recently I bought from him a package of 4000 stamps by ebay.

The stamps were poorly packaged, many torn or bent or missing parts, several lumps of stamps stuck together.

More over, instead of 4000 stamps, less than 3000 were sent.

ebay refunded me, and now the honourable Phil Morris-Jones of Telford Philatelic Supplies threatens to sue me for thousands of pounds.

Mr Phil Morris-Jones declares that he's a specialised dealer of Shropshire postcards, and also a stamp dealer of some 50 years standing

Be advised, and share with your friends.

Attached are scans of the received goods.

Yep, Peter, I wanted to share my experience with this fifty years standing dealer.
If anyone knows him and had experience with him, that will be interesting too.

You complained about him and I assume left neutral feedback.and, he now sues you? What the heck??? Is he claiming defamation? That's crazy. He looks to have had good feedback in the past. strange.

He's not suing, he's threatening. And I tried to communicate with him before asking ebay to step in. And I left neutral feedback because I didn't know then that he neglected to send me over 1000 stamps that he promised at the bidding.
BTW, someone told me that it might have been a common error when selling stamps by weight. Well, some sellers offer X number of stamps, others offer X grams of stamps. This lad offered 4000 stamps. Delivered less than 3000.
And if someone has scales with 25% error - he better return them to the store and as for his money back.

One of his recently sold lots is titled: World Stamp Mixture Approx 200 grams 4,000 stamps off paper
If this is what Rob Roy bought, then the operative word is "Approx"
The packaging in the image seems inadequate and already shows some bent and pulled perf stamps
And ten bucks for 3,000 stamps is not a bad deal even for mostly very common items: three for a penny.
So, unless MOST of the stamps are damaged, I'm not sure I see a problem here.

"Approximate" can't reasonably be taken to mean three-quarters of the claimed total.

The item I bought is the one ddaann mentioned:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/302377383460?ul_noapp=true
Such a scan won't show lumps, peeled back side, and so on.
Of the almost 3000 stamps I had 600 damaged and over 1000 doubles.
Last development- a message from Mr Phil Morris-Jones:
"...SEE YOU in COURT get a good solicitor I have contacted mine."

Not sure what he's contacting his lawyer about. And, given he's 3,000 miles away, his doing so would be a double waste of time!
