Quote: Rod, I'm a little confused - thought Sc. 226 had a quite modest CV. Yikes! Thanks Greg, I checked my Scott, you are correct ($6) I still have a screen grab of the auction, and it was listed at CV$5,000, and one of my nemesis' whom cannot be named made the last bid of $180. I highly respected him, and find it hard to see he made such a bad mistake, if indeed it was Looks like I saved $150 (my Bid) Perhaps we check with Michel ? Perhaps a Scott error? |

Scott #226 in used condition is cataloged in my old version at $5,000. Unused it is much, much cheaper. I imagine he recognized the cancel as being good and ignored the hinge thin... |

Thanks for the confirmation Billsey. Quote: I imagine he recognized the cancel as being good and ignored the hinge thin... I know the dealer well, and he/she would always like to go "fishing" That's why low bids were always respected, but not always successful. I still think your old Scott possibly is in error, I checked Mr.Gibbons 1965 and the 2f50 (Used) was only the 4th highest CV value in the set at 4GBP |

Thanks Geoff, I'll keep an eye out for this one, and the 4f C11 "Airplane and Map" another tough one to find.

Aha! Floortrader, the Airplane and Map series..lovely.
I was attempting to collect that series, when the Aussie dollar nose dived. Have not bought anything from North America in 2 years or so. Working from squirrelled stock.

Mutilated Stationery Fragments. Commerce and Navigation Traveller's Tree I have what appears to be a triplet of 5c Navigation and Commerce. (The most attractive clear impression I have seen, usually the image is cloudy) 1. Would this be considered a double perf? 2. is there a line in these sheets, shown in the rather larger wing? 3. the second row of perforations appear to have smaller pins. Opinions? |

Looks like a pair and a single to me. The perfs are shifted more in the pair than they are on the single. |

I'll have to dig it out and put it under the loupe. They look joined to me. Looks like these stamps were comb perf perhaps if so mine defies the norm.
I had a look at the Indo China blocks of 5 x 3 and I could see no lines or wing margins Yet to find a large sheet image.
If they are line perfed, then the lines of puncture could be explained. The top right and left corners suggest line perforate.
