A vast collecting discipline, just posting sundry pages I have. From Jon, ( note : selvedge "NK 1565" is the Norwegian catalogue number of the stamps) (Requires fresh ink for the cancelling hammer) 1966 Steiner Page 12. 1947 Semi Postal Steiner Page 28. 1929 Cinderellas : Hesshaimer.

Very nice Rod,
I do like modern Austrian stamp design.
This 1966 fruit set is very appealing. |

Quote: This 1966 fruit set is very appealing. I thought that too, Nigel. makes you kinda want to kick-start a smoothie. Austrians set a high standard, their stamps sometimes appear "too perfect" Their cancelling hammers are mainly crisp and well applied. Their engraved sets are superb. Would be a recommended hobby for a new collector, affordable in the main and lots to get your teeth into. |

Quote: .hope some of Blaamand's are there Not yet, Rene, his starts around 1975 ...and bless his heart, he sent the couple of hundred in a mixed bag, but they had been previously sorted into years. (I had taken them from the glassine gently) I used my #102 cards "Sort Box" and had them organised in a jiffy....saved me hours. (This is where the "Pointy Tongs" are so useful) |

Blaamand always has nice stamps.......and me too !! I like the way you sort them (stamps) and will probably adopt your system, for large lots which arrive occasionally. Actually I am doing my own thing with the 1,600 WWII stamps from my father's collection gought in 1974.....all enveloppes (glassines) pristine, never have been opened for the last 40+ years but since the glassines work in Parts 1-6, there are only between 260-350 stamps in each...I am doing part 3 "Axis Powers" right now so the sorting goes pretty fast for each Part.
