Scott #24, Type Va - most likely position 9L5. Post a better scan of the top one fourth of the stamp please.

Yup. I didn't notice the spot on the "N". I was looking at the blurs at top. I have a couple 9L5 and the blur is distinctive. Better images aren't really necessary...

Hi, not sure, is there a double transfer in orientation to the oval?

Dutch,

If you want to plate 1c stamps you might tackle the job in this order. Learn the types, then the characteristics of each plate followed by the various reliefs. You can also consider color, paper, and date of usage to help narrow possibilities.

Dutch... I will also add that type Va stamps are not common, relative to usual type V, making your specimen quite interesting.
In terms of Scott 24s, the fact that your stamp is a Va and from top row of plate 5 makes it a little more special to those that enjoy this aspect of the hobby.

I'll add to Winston's good advice by pointing out that the very wide breaks in both top and bottom frame lines point right to #24 (#21 would in almost all cases not have such wide breaks in both lines). This is verified by the incomplete "C" shaped ornament at UR. The fact that the reverse "C" shaped ornament at LR is complete indicates Type Va.
