And yet another from https://goscf.com/t/57689. Part of two panes from the 1969 Prime ministers booklet series, with SG449a/Sc453a (G. H. Reid) printed on helecon paper. Note the pinkish tinge when viewed in UV light.

Quote:
1963 2'3 Opening of the Trans-Pacific Cable (SG362).

This was a common design used by Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain. The cable ran from Canada (Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island) via Hawaii to Australia and New Zealand. Canada (COTC, later renamed Teleglobe Canada) also operated the mid-way station in Hawaii. Canada did not issue a stamp, presumably because the postal and telecoms were separate entities. Many other countries shared in the cost of construction by purchasing IRUs (Indefeasible Rights of Usage), essentially the long-term lease of circuits on the cable.

Here are images of the UK and New Zealand issues.

Hi Castor, neat stamps. On the last one I see two broken spots in the door jamb, one just below the doorknob. Am I seeing things?

Apologies for current images, my computer is playing up and programs won't let me crop, etc So I'm having to do a bit of playing around to get them uploaded. I will look to replace those images when things are sorted.

1982 Historic Australian Post Offices (27c Kingston S.E. Post Office) (SG852) with "red dot on building" (BW961, Mc1). The dot is located towards the top of the doorway closest to the telegraph pole. (https://www.acsvid.com/1982)

Now along with that I have found a more interesting variety but with various red dots on the building, etc (there also appears to be a black dot where the red dot is on the other stamp, though it is likely to be due to postmark).
Has anyone seen this one before?

1966 Yellow-Tailed Thornbill (SG 386).

(page 2) "two green dots under 5c" (BW448e).

"white dot over last L of THORNBILL" (BW 448f). To me "white void" would be more applicable.

Now I find this weird, no mention of the following stamp variety in Brusden White. It has more green dots/strokes and even a brown spot on the wattle under "O" of "YELLOW".

That's not listed in McLeary either. Now you have to find another one!

Thanks for the input jubilee.
Hopefully others might check theirs and... who knows.
I'm likely to have more examples of the stamp on paper so time will tell if I have another but here's hoping somewhere out there...

ps. I notice the first stamp along with the "two green dots" there is actually a third green stroke above the "-" in "YELLOW-BILLED" (or at least in mine there is). Because of position I would say it is (at least) as striking as the lower of the "two dots".
Okay so I've now come across a brown stroke attached to the top of the "c" in "5c" and a brown dot attached to the right edge of the second wattle leaf below and between "5c" and "YEL..". None of these things are mentioned though they may be part of the 'normal' "two green dots" BUT really it at least would/should be "three green dots" (if that is the case).

You can see all those errors on the original full picture (above) without any enlargement.

So along with looking the "many dots" stamp, if anyone has the "two green dots" could they check theirs for the extras please.

You would have to say it is rather outstanding. (I will post a full image once I work out what's happening with images - optimized - see photobucket images - having trouble uploading image/s).

An earlier remark I made about the 1975 Famous Women's Series.

Quote:

This is a real collector's set. Each stamp is available with two perforations and potentially three types of gum - white, pink and blue - although it is not known whether all combinations of perf and gum exist.

I have just come across an image of the collection I had at the time I sold this.
