Looks to me like a fantasy stamp. The real Danish ones have the Royal Seal in the middle,

Peter

Thank you for the kind words guys.

Apparently not that classy, when we visit the zoo, the Meerkats run for cover.
(but the primates always seem welcoming)

Rod you do seem to be an amazing guy, I don't doubt that the primates in the zoo find you interesting, I do too! You have an amazing collection from what little have seen, it appears to be all categorized and indexed for swift search and retrieval - I would love to do the same with whatever kind of collection I build. I love the way you have filed the related information with your stamps. Love it! Julie

Genuine of these essays are extremely rare.

Vast majority on the market are reprints or forgeries.

Some images here: http://stampforgeries.com/denmark-essays/

Literature covering these are extremely hard to find as well. I lack the material to describe how to handle these.

G'day Julie,
in the scheme of things, I am just a mid range worldwide "collector"
There are guys / gals here that inspire me, in what I do.
The people that study their discipline in detail, the people that write the monographs and catalogues. I am in awe of them.

But it's good what you see, gives you ideas on how to begin your journey.

Organisation is a biggie for Worldwide collectors, when I discovered the Scott Catalogue, and Steiner pages, that was a big deal for me.
Not everybodys choice, but that gave me structure, and freed a lot of my stamps from the shoebox, to the page.

I am having fun, I find Philately endlessly fascinating, which, I would guess,
is just about everyone's position, that frequents this forum.
I like your passion for learning...keep it up.

Thanks Classical Stamps.
Using that Link, my two copies shown on this page are forgeries.
I'll note that on my page.

Hi there, don't want to hijack someone else's thread, but do want to say a few things. Rod, I don't know if it is because you seem to have everything so under control with what you have done with your collection (from what I can tell from afar) or if it is just your flashy avatar but you definitely caught my eye when I first got here, almost 2 months ago now.

At any rate, having spent my working life working in the tech field on computers big and small, your flair for pulling the right thing up at the right time consistently has made an impression on me - I am thinking I would like a computerized collection also, not sure what to do with the physical stamps - shoeboxes sound fine to me at the moment - but can imagine this thing could morph into something much larger and become cumbersome.

I know there are software programs already out there for cataloging stamps, someone from the forum told me about the catalog software they were using. I am thinking I want a digital album and will have to look further into it. Anyway, thank you for all the nice things you have said and done for me, also wanted to let you know I found the "professional" panel on my Epson scanner, and now understand what you were trying to talk me through a week or so ago. I wanted to be sure to thank you again for that.

And lastly,

for that remark I thank you - a very kind thing to say. You can be assured that I will keep it up for some time to come - I am so happy I found this forum and this new "passion" Julie
