I have these Solomon Island issues in strips of 5.

Scott lists as strips of 10 but mine are strips of 5.
Stampworld only list singles.
SG lists as groups of 10.

Steiner provides 6 spaces of strips of 5. The space provided not match the size.

I am trying to understand why mine are strips of 5.

angore,
all mine are strips of 5 as well, as I recall.
I'll dig out my album and have a look, I think mine are still in cellophane.
I'll post back shortly.

I cannot help with why strips of 10 ? not seen them.

PS: This is the first time I have noticed some strips are numbered at the Right hand end. (you have 9 and 10)

They would fit without the selvedge, Mr. Steiner possibly guaged the stamp vertical size when designing the page.

Your page shown looks fine !

This is what I have.

Rod:

Could it be that a sheet of these contained the two panes you show? Then a strip of 10 stamps could exist with a gutter in the middle. At the outer ends would be the numbers 1 and 6, 2 and 7, etc. This would be a possible reason for numbers 1 to 5 appearing at one end of the steps and y to you at the other

Frank.

Brilliant Frank. Well done you.
I never considered that.

Good luck trying to get a strip of 10 on an album page

Thanks. The numbering by strips by 10 still does not sense unless the sheets were side by side especially since the numbered the strips (1-10). Steiner only provides spaces for 8 strips without the extra selvage.

angore,
with respect, I think you are in error.

Steiner shows spaces for 10 (Pages 67 through 69)

If you do not have these, let me know and I can email them to you.

Well, for once, one of my infrequent flashes of lucidity turned out to be correct! And the sheet's perforation leads naturally to strips of 10 stamps.

I know that this is a few years old now, but I would have thought some of you had the full sheet. I have ended up with about 10 of them. Peddled as the world's largest se-tenant sheet with 50 different designs.
