Hello Klaus, I found some information about the actor Boris Shchukin (1894-1939) and the play by Nikolai Pogodin 'The Man with the Rifle' which played at the Vakhtangov Theatre Moscow. Shchukin had the role of Lenin and looked very much like him in the play. I found an alamy photo taken during a performance. By the way, the style of tie hasn't changed much since then.

Talarico Cravatte

Maurizio Talarico founded his company in Rome in 1999,
driven by the desire to uphold traditional craftsmanship in tie-making
- something he couldn't find in existing manufacturers.
His philosophy centers on artisanal production, with each tie meticulously handmade
and featuring the distinctive "X" stitch, a hallmark of the Talarico brand.
To preserve exclusivity, only three ties are produced per design.

Carl van Megen KG

The city of Krefeld was a German center of the silk and textile industry in the 19th and 20th centuries, which makes it likely that Carl van Megen began as a local producer of silk ties, scarves, and other fashion accessories. In 1983, the company was renamed Carl van Megen GmbH.

Danton and Robespierre wore fine looking cravats.

France Scott B252

France Scott B253

Both were executed via beheading on the guillotine.

Here is Danton stepping up to the guillotine, sans cravate
