Yea, the paper looks pretty wrong. My first reaction was maybe its a proof, but its grilled. I honestly don't know if they grilled the proofs for this issue, but I looked at the front of a few real ones (121 proofs), and I couldn't see evidence of a grill (not that that means much).
I wonder if this is another Peter Winter prophil item?
I don't see it carrying a big premium on that piece personally.. I mean, OK, it's a pair of 121s with lousy centering. I would want to see it in person myself.
If it's real, at some point, some idiot destroyed what would be a hugely valuable cover today.
The Scott #121 printing is very strange; looks like a very fine halftone screen. These are not great pics, but they are good enough to see that engraved lines are not visible...as they should be. And, of course, the paper looks fresh and modern. On the plus side, there are grills.
