Found this in recent lot purchase. Nicely used, uncut pair of 8c queen #593. Could not find it specifically listed in Unitrade. Looks like it is from a booklet, I think #586b. Any ideas as to what would produce this?

Assuming there is no scoreline between the 2 stamps, this appears to be 604vi or 604vii depending on the paper (dull Fluorescence or Hi-Brite). These are caused from coil rolls that were not properly separated. Can you see a scoreline between the 2 stamps?

No sign of a score line, and paper looks like DF. So 604vi then. Always nice to find a little surprise like this.

Thanks for your quick help!

Hey gmot..I ran your stamp through one of my software programs...Not saying your stamp does not have a score line, but the area where the arrows are pointing is roughly where the score line is located..Not saying I am right, but it brings up a question.

Good catch thanks! I've looked more closely on higher magnification and indeed there is a faint score line. With that being the case, what would this be, if not 604vi?

gmot...It is a regular 604 vertical pair...Probably $1.00.
Check to see if they are untagged..and if they are HF or DF..Then they are worth more.

Keep up the posting my friend and enjoy.

Robert

Appreciate your help - they're tagged. But value is not important, I like to know "why" and "how" for a stamp...
