*** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Titles are important! ***Been away for far too long, (pesky day job) but have managed to have a weekend sorting some stamps I have come across one that looks like the 1902 SG 306 ( I think it is Scott 300) but it is blue not green. I can not find this variation - can anyone throw some light please Many thanks David revision - that looks green ? I am attaching both green and blue stamps - hopefully they will show differently

Hi David. Very hard to tell from the small picture, but it looks to me like your stamp is an environmental changeling

Here is an example of 'changelings' of this issue. Only the green one is real. The others have been chemically altered (not by me). Environmental factors can also change the color to more blueish or a faded green. |

David, not necessarily light damage, but could be as simple as the water it was soaked in. Hard to tell exactly what caused it,

I use digital color analysis as an aid for the visually impaired with the typical male "partially color-blind" syndrome. |

As stampman mentioned above this issue came in a number of shades: Green Deep Green Gray Green Yellow Green All would result in a different RGB as you know. ;} |

Quote: ...All would result in a different RGB as you know. ;} There are 16,777,216 possible RGB color values in a typical 8 bit channel image file. There are thousands (10,000+) of 'green' RGB values. |

This is "Very Green". I must be "partially color blind", or my monitor needs adjustments! |
