Hi all, trying to identify the stamps on cover, this is what I think:

1. Type 2, scott 11A
2. type 2, but only right innerline recut, scott 10A
3. Type 1, scott 10
4. Type 1, scott 11 (below the upper left triangle is the design made of an extreme small lined triangle, other than normal I think)

interested to learn my mistakes if I made any

thank you all in advance

Among other things, the third stamp has the distinctive weak and very straight left frame line typical of plate 4.

The 3c Stamp of the United States 1851-1857 Issue by Carroll Chase is the book you want. Look for the Quarterman reprint from 1975.

Hey Dutch... Www.uspcs.org has some great info on this issue as well www.stampsmarter.com. The 3c stamp of 1851 can be very addictive! Have fun... Greg
