Good morning all,

The USPO and later the USPS have used various formats of Post Office Bulletins For Lobby Display since the early 1800's. They go by various titles including bulletins, notices, and unlabeled. All were sent to the postmaster with instructions to post in a conspicuous place in their lobby.

These are disposable documents not designed for preservation. They come in various sizes from single sheets back in the stampless and early stamp era to large theater size multi color eye catchers today.

Would you please share with me what examples of these documents you have in your collection. The early smaller format items are more conducive to digitization than the modern monsters; but, an image would be appreciated if possible.

A long term goal would be to place this material into a reference data base similar to others hosted by Stamp Smarter. This note is the first step in seeing if this project would enjoy sufficient community support to be worth perusing.

Rest in Peace

The heyday of these postal bulletins was the late 1950's through about 1973. At least that's the period of the ones I've seen.

There are literally hundreds of these. Here are a few examples for you.

Hoosierboy, It would be good form to share examples from your own collection as you ask us to make an effort to image and post ours. Just saying ....

I agree with stampman, I am aware of over 600 of these bulletins from 1959-1981, plus lobby posters of other sizes and purposes.

Clarification on request. The ones I am interested in concern procedures, regulations, and services not stamp issues.

My request remains the same. Share some of your examples to merit the return favor.
