I found this stamp in a czechoslovakia 1919 overprint lot. But I can't find any information about it. It's an overprint on a hungarian stamp (Michel HU179) Have you already seen it ? Thanks,
Its a Charity Overprint. Check out Stamp Collecting World websight. Under Czechoslovakia, it shows Charity stamps......you can see what its for on that page. I would copy and paste it here but I don't know if that violates any forum regulation or copyright stuff.
The basic stamp is a 1916 postal savings stamp of Hungary (it was also accepted on mail as payment of postage, so it is listed as a postage stamp in Scott and Michel catalogs.)
This issue, like many others of Hungary and Austria, was overprinted like this in Prague to prepare charity stamps in 1919. However, the overprint on this particular stamp was never officially issued. As often happens with unissued stamps, some got on the market anyway.
It is a scarce stamp (I see Cherrystone's sold genuine examples around $200) but the overprint is also found deceptively forged and the basic stamp is common, so care's advised.
