Much thanks. Now I recall finding this info the other day, 4 vs 5 lines; and promptly forgot as I am plowing my way through cataloging 1000's of WW stamps and it sure gets hazy out there.

At least I am having some fun. I'll try not to waste folks time any more.

Any stamps that are a deep chocolate brown, such as the top two stamps on the right are always 209.

Yup, cataloged and filed as 209 hours ago.

Again, many thanks. If I could give one away I would at my cost, but I don't think I have enough posts yet.

Again, brand new to this and have tons of questions and just starting to learn how to use a site like this. I don't usually cyber surf much less join communities. BIG LEARNING CURVE.

tHANKS, Thanks, and THANKS!

The border of Scott 209 is appears to be darker than the interior of the area surrounding the oval vignette. The Border of 139, 150, 161, 187 and 188 is the same shade as the interior of the area surrounding the oval vignette with only the outline of the frame inside the border contrasting. Once the eye is trained to spot the differences, counting lines is seldom necessary.
