Hello,

Trying to figure out the difference. Could someone tell me what I have attached is the J69 or is it J79?

Thank you,
Joe

The block is the rotary press perf 11 x 10½ J79. The horizontal perforations are aligned between rows. From the image, it would be difficult to determine if the shade is dull carmine or vermilion. The Scott catalog lists J79a as dull carmine and J79 as vermilion. The listings appear to be reversed. Dull carmine was issued before vermilion. The $1 and $5 Scott US Specialized J77 and J78 postage due listings are correct but rotary press postage due J79 to J86 listings are rife with errors. Will Scott ever get around to fixing them?
