Not to beat a dead horse, but is MUH a commonly-used acronym?
... and now, a clarification (?) of terms...
Firstly a bit of history... 20+ years ago, the terms used in Canada & the United States (and most of the world) were used and unused. This meant that a used stamp was cancelled and an unused stamp was not cancelled. It may have gum on the back, or not. It may have been hinged or not. Then... we collectors became picky and the details came out... thus...
The Canadians and Americans, for the most part use the following terms:
Mint (M) - as in mint from the post office
Mint Never Hinged (MNH) - as above
Mint Hinged (MH) - has been hinged
Mint No Gum (MNG) / or Unused No Gum (UNG) - mint on the front/used on the back
Remember that the correct term for "putting" a stamp in your album is to "mount" it; the British (Australians, New Zealanders, and to a lesser extend, Canadians) will use the terms "mounted" and "unmounted" to describe "hinged" or "never hinged".
Thus:
MUH: Mint Unhinged
UM: Unmounted
** as an aside, in Britain, to say a person is unhinged means he's a bit odd, eh?
