Hey forum, Nice to meet you, my new name is stampland… I am definitely an amateur at this but have been doing extensive research so I can figure out which of these stamps is the million dollar one so I can hurry up and quit this stupid job.... just joking... Kinda. anyway, My family owns rental properties and about 5 years ago a guy passed away, sad story, he drank himself to death but with great death comes great inheritance... for somebody, he had piles of coins, ***family friendly forum!***, it was rough. nobody came for his stuff, we tried for a year to contact a next of kin, nothing. we called the sheriffs because he had a huge firearm collection, and they told us to keep them. so that's what we did, it wasn't until a couple weeks ago that I was going through our storage and found what I thought were 5 books old books of his, I opened them up to find beautiful stamps from all across the world, cancellation dates of early 1800's, whether these are worth something or nothing it truly has given me a respect for this hobby. so much culture and history are behind these beautiful stamps, there are about 10-15,000 stamps in these books mostly from the united states but about 35% from different parts of the world, all pre 1940 some pre 1840 most pre 1900. Let me know what you Think I will be uploading a few of my favorite pages and if anyone sees anything maybe Theres a finders fee ;)

Hello. The GB stamps are common ones that you'd expect to find in an album from around the 1940s-50s, with no earlier material. The US looks similar. Keep scanning!

As a general rule earlier is better. You say that there are some pre-1840 and pre-1900. Show some of these, please.

You say pre 1840. Are these stampless covers? (First stamp was 1840)

Show the earlies. Stamps for the most part are a fun hobby and of little monetary value. No finders fee necessary as we do this out of loving enjoyment.

What do you plan to do with the collection now that little monetary value is evident? Continue the collection? Donate? Sell? Stamp collecting is fun and educational.
