I never use graphite on any stamp, and here we see why.
About the photo: Still there is no good image of the grill. As Sinclair and I described above, the low light has to be oblique, not the camera or stamp.
You all are still looking for good photos of grills. I posted on this thread on June 30 what I think is a useful approach using the oblique lighting technique and a digital microscope, an inexpensive setup. You might want to take a look at it...think it is post #11 in this thread.
As stamperix mentioned, the camera wants to be focused perpendicular to the stamp from above with the light low and oblique.
