Hi Halfwitty,
These are 4 from the set of 6 coins issued in 1949. First coinage stamps-official series title. Designed by the most famous of all Israeli Stamp designers, O.Wallish. The 5,10 and 15 Prutot stamps were also issued in Tete-Beche and Tete-Beche gutter pairs. Minimum value but lovely stamps...keepies. The top one [5 prutot] was probably used on Military Mail so may have dodged some gunfire during the latter stages of the War of Independence. The triangular postmark is the clue.

I collect mainly Cinderellas and Flags these days but still have GB,Germany,Bulgaria,Israel,Palestine,Palestinian Authority,Laos and.......
They are mostly idle these days.
Info error on my first post. The 5,10 and 15 Prutot were not 'issued' in Tete-Beche pairs. They were also issued in Tete-Beche Sheets for making up into booklets in 1950. All 6 values were issued in regular sheet form in 1949. I cannot tell from where yours come from.
But I will check.
Londonbus1.....Hungary,Czechoslovakia,Poland,Egypt.......

Is Austrian WW1 emergency currency of any value to collectors or did they just make millions and millions of them? Also, about the stamps from Israel, you say minimal value. What is minimal to you? haha |

Minimal value= a few cents.
Let's take the full set of the stamps you showed. The set of 6 with Tabs [Most Israel Stamps are issued with tabs-see other threads] is catalogued by Carmel [Israel catalogue] at $95, used. A set of 6 without tabs [like your stamps] are $1.20.
So you see, just a few cents.
Londonbus1.....Austrian money not my line. |

They are stamps used as money in WW1.Thought they would be in the same category.Anyway. I will try to upload some sets of stamps from Hungary and Monaco that I have from the Helsinki Olympic games. They are a bit larger so I need to work out how to make them fit. |

Thank you. Have seen many JNF cinderellas I had thought this may have been different, sport etc. Seems if it is not official postage, any cinderella belongs to JNF Serendipity Just found it in my database (Not my stamp) Not aware of any catalogue supporting these But appears to have a reference "I-21" "Sportsmen" (green) With a circular postmark of some sort. Perhaps a union due Cinderella with cancel. This will be the strike which dates the stamp/cinderella "Interim period April-May 1948" |

As classic_paper wrote, it is JNF label. It used during the 1940's and was applied on diplomas given to sportsmen with high achievements in sport competitions. The diplomas were given by the National Council, the main national executive institution of the Jewish community in Palestine under British Mandate, responsible for education, local government, welfare, security and defense. |

Quote: Seems if it is not official postage, any cinderella belongs to JNF A sure sign of a JNF stamp are the three Hebrew words "Keren Kayemeth L'Israel" circled in red above - the Hebrew is read from right to left. KKL is the Hebrew name of the organisation known as JNF in English, although it is not a direct translation. Clive |
