Just curious but doesn't putting a MNH stamp in detecting fluid ruin the gum on the stamp?

Probably affects it a little, if you were to view it under a microscope, but as no-one is concerned, there's no issue.

If the gum is water activated then the petroleum based lighter fluid (and benzene and other such) will not react with it. (Clarity watermark fluid will not react with water based gum either.) This is why collectors have been using these products for 100 plus years.

Its a question of solubility. Water-based gum won't be soluble in the organic chemical detection fluids, so there's no effect.
