Hello all,

Recently inherited a these Imperial seals of various types and am attempting to acquire an understanding of what I have here. Sadly, despite searching online no specific reference has presented itself. I believe most of these are pre-WWI to WWI period. Can anyone provide some direction on these? Many thanks in advance!

In German they are called Siegelmarken. I know almost nothing about them. But they are collectible as I have seen them in German auction catalogs. Here is a Wikipedia article (in German):

Hi Mark,

That looks a very interesting range of seals.

I'm afraid I can't give any help but if you have the time it would be great to see some of your collection in more detail.

My own avatar shows a seal from the former Austro-Hungarian consulate in Chania in Crete.

A very special example of these seals can be found in Austria.
The Kaiserlich-Königliche Privilegirte Österreichische Länderbank had a wonderful perfin-like seal with a lot of holes, and I'm privileged to own one of those pieces ...
