See the attached image. Has anyone had problems with ebay as far as not being able to list essays and proofs. I tried to list this and they blocked it stating it was in violation of their policy as replicas are not allowed ?? I called them and was told that they are going to stop all listings of proofs and essays. There are 100's of them listed now and they have been freely bought and sold for decades. Did I just get a representative who has no idea what a n essay even is ? I told them that they have been listing is Scotts for years. I'm totally confuse as I have sold proofs and essays in the past . Thanks for letting me ramble on.

They have a separate topic for reproductions or whatever they call them. I'm guessing you got someone who is uninformed and thinks you're trying to sell copies like counterfeits.

It sounds like you got somebody who doesn't know anything about stamps.

But this item is not an essay or a proof. It is a cut out of the center portion of RS37 or RS38.

I run into problems all the time with my military related items. ebay uses computer generated word searches to screen their items. The decision to remove a listing is totally automated. Often relisting it with slightly different wording is all it takes. Calling ebay and trying to explain your listing is usually just a waste of time. Most of the ebay reps are not trained or equipped to handle detailed questions, they just answer phones.
