I bought this 1861 Thomas Jefferson 67-E1 Proof. Do you think this is laid paper? If so, where should I send it to have it authenticated? Thank you in advance!

Mr. Jefferson is facing in the wrong direction for this to be a 67-E1 essay.

I think what you have is a Scott 67-E1b. Die II on proof paper (1903)in black with a catalogue value of 75.00

Die II which has a more complete background is one of the 1903 Shernikow reprints made from dies and transfer rolls in the Bank Note Co. archives.
