Hi,
I came across a collection of stamps from a local estate. I'm very new to stamps. The collection has some old stamps from 1800's and I'm not sure if they are worth anything. Some are us and some are foreign stamps in binders. I attach one that looks interesting to me since there is so many in the collection I just don't know where to start. This one has Alexandria VA dated Oct. 10 1862.. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

That is a very nice postmark. Stamp not likely to be of much value, but needs more expert view. Show us more?

Welcome PickerJim, it looks like you have a very nice start to stamp collecting, if that becomes your interest.

There are those here who are very knowledgeable, but you'll have to post several full page scans for them to have any idea about this collection.

Also, you could go to the American Philatelic Society (stamps.org), then from the drop down list on the "Community" tab click "Clubs". If there is a local stamp club near you that may be a good resource, once clubs start meeting again.

Welcome to the forum!
