I don't think you should, if you haven't seen them yet. Not a pretty sight. The sort of thing that makes women faint and strong men weep.

Nice, though, to have aboard your Yacht,
especially when you have lost your Spinnaker.

With a week's supply of them, you could have outfitted the Cutty Sark.

A revenue from Lebanon...it is surprisingly small...bigger than a blue flea, but not a lot bigger.

Lebanon, so much history,
from prehistory to the Phoenecians, to the Pharoahs of Egypt
who imported their famous cedar trees.

The Vignette is the arcade of the palace at Beit ed-Din.

Another vert format Revenue.

Rod, I have a note that mine is a notarial revenue. Right or wrong? Any insight there?

Unknown to me Cj,
we had a rather knowledgeable gentleman in another
newsgroup, that knew Lebanon back to front.
After a spat / misunderstanding / harsh words perhaps
with several posters we lost him forever.
Kinda make you appreciate a strongly moderated forum like SCF

Fixing a Gaff

My original post includes a revenue
that I would have bet Tony Macs superannuation
was King George5
Actually it is KE7, easily sorted as the rev was issued 1909

I would like to thank my chief researcher 22Crows for
the correction, she reckons she recognises KE7
under that crown.

Not me, I alwys had Edward a lot thinner.

But there you are, the girls are always right!

(I fixed the text and my image, but unable to
fix the original collage)

Edward 7 (formerly KG5)

Great Britain Revenue Usage - 1959

A common enough stamp, but I don't see too many uses of these as revenues, thought I would share.

A Victoria 1 shilling...I tried the scan twice because the scan didn't do justice to the stamp...still not completely happy with it.

A second of exchange from Mauritius, still on a small piece. Soaking seems risky, so it'll have to stay on paper.
