On 1920's stamps (text in Spanish).

0.15 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract of 75 - 200 pta/month.

0.20 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract of 200 - 225 pta/month.

0.25 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract of 225 - 300 pta/month.

0.35 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract above 400 pta/month.

On 1930's stamps (text in Catalan).

0.15 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract of 75 - 200 pta/month.

1 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract under 100 pta/month.

2 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract of 100 - 150 pta/month.

5 pta was the tax to be paid for a rent contract above 500 pta/month.

It's clear that there was an increase on taxing during this period, that explains the apparent contradiction on the 0.15 and 1 pta ranges. The country was undergoing the consequences of 1929 crisis and money was tight (just as today!)

100 pta was equal to 0.60 euro

Just to put things in prespetive:
In 1932 a Barcelona's newspaper price was 0.10 pta (0.06 €) against today's 1.2 €. And, in average, standard of living was lower than today.

It amused me when a kid, to see on a shop wall,

Underneath someone had scrawled
"Bill Posters is innocent"

You always discover new things in this never-ending philatelic world of us.

I'm not sure these are all revenues as I'm not knowledgable in this area.
The first Italian example I can't even identify exactly and the Ecuador ones could have been used as a lot were for postal use.

Your Bill stamp is a first issue from 1864.

The provinces also put out their own law stamps, I've got some from Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec.

My brother worked for B A Banknote for a number of years as an artist. He says they stopped doing stamps long before he showed up, and Canada Banknote now does most of them.

so remain unidentified (locals perhaps?)

Regarding the Ecuadorian revenues - There is an excellent site for these and regular stamps with decent info and some printable pages.
The revenue pages show how complex they are so I'll be avoiding for now

Nothing at all on the Italy ones though but I suspect as you mentioned they are locals possibly Perugia.
