Hi Rob041256, mouth-watering as usual. For each issue, do you happen to have scans of all the stamps together? For example, all the 3d Brown stamps in the same scan. The color variations are just mind-boggling - Brown, Dark Brown, Red Brown, and even a Grey Brown! I thought having them all in the scan picture would allow us to better understand and appreciate the differences. |

Hi Prexie3c
I made a mistake with the first two kookaburras, the shades were meant to be the scarcer Bright Red-Brown and Dull Red-Brown, so I corrected them. Yes I can put together the colour variations side-by-side; I'll have them uploaded in about 10 minutes.

Hi Prexie3c Here are 6 shades, there is meant to be 7, the missing shade is the 1956 Reddish-Brown, which I should be able to locate before I reach the QEII stamps. There is not much of a difference on the screen between the dull brown and greyish-brown, but if the stamps are viewed in person there is a difference. The greyish-brown is a shade darker in the background and on the bird's feathers than in the dull brown. |
