I've got two 60 page binders, one of which is fairly well sorted https://drive.google.com/folderview...dNboOgvADs-o
by country of origin and date. The other binder https://drive.google.com/folderview...F4IfFjFZBpKd is a mess.

Any suggestions on the fastest way to sort these?

Personally, I first sort by continent or large entity (eg British Empire/Commonwealth, France and Colonies), then move to the next level of individual countries. There are lots of US there, which will speed it up.

They are fairly well sorted already, although not labelled very well. What you do with them depends where you want to end up. What would you like to achieve at the end?

I guess if you want to merge the two collections you will have to start by taking the stamps out, keeping them in country piles (envelopes may help) then put them back in the books as one collection.

I do want to merge them but I'd rather avoid taking them out to sort them. I was thinking about labeling/writing on the pictures I took and once I've identified them all then in one go sort them into a third binder. Are there any known ways to quickly identify and date the stamps?

Not really possible to do it quickly - you'll need to identify each stamp to date it, and to do that you'll need a catalogue. Paper ones are easier to use, I find, but online ones have the advantage of being free and at your disposal straight away (Stampworld.com is one of the most popular). This really is part of the fun though - you may find you get into it. The goal for most collectors isn't to do it quickly so much as to do it thoroughly and organise and display the stamps. That's where the pleasure lies.

What I would do is make a pile of little paper squares to use for labels, and slip them in under or over the stamps until they are all marked up. Then methodically move them into the new book, building the pages in the process.

There are, possibly take you 2-5 years?
Scan each individual stamp, label each image with the Scott catalogue number and design characteristics.

Then you sort by value, place each value in its year of issue.

For example US 3 cents stamps, approx 326 stamps
I sort about 300 to 500 an hour.

Tip: shortcut may be use ebay to follow a similar route.
