Sharing an interesting find from recent Canada acquisition. This lightly used 1903 King Eddy 5c issue (Scott 91) has a missing perf on the left side. Haven't run across this before that I recall on other Canadian issues of the period.

A missing pin. It appears that the stamp's left margin is so wide at that point that it was cut with scissors and not torn apart normally.

I have not seen one of this issue with a blind perf. Nice that it was cut vs torn

Hi gmot
Here is a 92 I found as soon as I opened up one of my junk boxes.
Might find more if I dug deeper..Not a good stamp but there in the top right corner.

Robert

Thanks all for replies! - don't usually keep used from that period, but think I'll hang onto this one and put it in my page of "curiousities".

Yes gmot...Keep it...It is a good informational item to show collectors about missing perfs.

There are lots of oddities with perfs...Nova Scotia is notorious with respects to blind perfs..I won't post them, but they are almost common.

Hello, I wouuld definitely keep this stamp. I personally am a lover of used stamps. This particular stamp is incredibly centered with HUGE margins! A true gem of a stamp even if you prefer mint stamps! Just lovely. Another quick note, I notice that Canadian stamps of that period are much easier to find well centered with large margins than the stamps from the USA during the same period. Still this is an eye popping stamp to me! Thanks for showing!

You're most welcome - it does have very nice margins as do many from that period. I actually decided to list it for sale in my Hipstamp store, so that someone who does collect used Canada can buy it.
