You guys have been so much help. Anything about the ones in the seventh pic with the hand writing on them? I know they're not in the greatest condition but I personally find those ones interesting? Thanks again everyone.

They're French fiscal stamps, late-Victorian, from memory.

Thanks again for all of the help. I see that some new people can't handle the short but to the point answers on some of the posts, but I rather appreciate those answers. I learned collecting marbles that for the most part all that most people have are fish tank marbles (at least that's where I feel they'd be the most appropriate) and almost everyone calls any marbles that they've found antique when they most definitely are not in most cases. The few times I've happened to just run across them and they were decent as far as type, the condition lacked terribly. So I just wanted to say that I get why some of the answers that I've read are short and to the point. I don't understand why people have to be so sensitive about the answer given when it wasn't meant to insult or be rude. So far you guys have been great as far as I'm concerned. Especially since I realize and appreciate the time that most of you have invested to gain the knowledge to be able to just look at some pictures and be able to make a quick evaluation, because I get it. Anyways, thanks again.

As our moderator Don once said, I believe, the "tone" of the reply can sometimes be misunderstood.
One sees it across the internet.

The other can be the choice of words, if one chooses "junk" (worthless, meaningless, or contemptible; trash.) with regards to stamps, then it can bring with it certain responses.
Retorts with aggravation, usually ensues.

Have you considered, beginning to collect stamps, you may lose your marbles ?

I lost those a long time ago, that's why I collect everyone else's now#128527;. Hadn't really thought about stamps, not sure that I would have the time that it would take to learn the valuable knowledge needed to do so correctly currently. But they are nice and small, they can be contained and stored nicely when collected and don't become dust collectors (used to collect depression glass and antique bottles a little until the dusting became too much, that's why I switched to marbles-just as fun to look at, way less mess). I am unusually bias towards collecting small things that have nice ways to keep and store them. So I may in the future consider it, once I have a little more time to do so.
