I am no expert on florescent stamp paper.
I have about 75 Scott 219 stamps.
It is the only one that seams to have been printed on florescent paper.

Can anyone explain this oddity or is this normal..???
Wish maybe this was printed on gum side..haha

Robert

Probably "Hibrite Paper". How did you make it light up Robert? Did you use long wave ultra violet?

Robert, what do they look like under regular light? The left one seems a bit yellowish, but maybe that is just from the long wave? uv light. Or maybe the paper is quite a bit brighter? And is it possible a little chlorine or bleach got on or into the water when that right one was soaked?

Mike

Probably came into contact with HB envelope paper
when being soaked off paper.

If soaked with a 'drop' of some dishwashing liquids, stamps can light up like your kid bother on Christmas morning.

Some dish washing liquids put 'optical brighteners' in the soap to make the dishes look cleaner. You often will not find these on the list of ingredients of the bottles; in fact on some brands you will not find any ingredients list at all. (In most countries manufacturers are not required to list ingredients on dish washing liquids.)

Good stewardship is to soak water-activated stamps in clear, cool water only. For modern adhesives there is less choice so you are left experimenting with various chemicals. In the future we will find out if the experiments were successful or not.
