Hi, I got these Belgium 'Chemins de Fer' stamps from 1912+. Unused, even mint stamps are not really rare, however, as with these stamps is typical they are cancelled at a specific train station. In this case respectively Namur, depot 17(?) and (in a poor state) Strichnon. Does anyone know are locations of cancels on railway stamps to any interest to collectors e.g. from that region? In general I mean?
Bloemzee, you can search this forum for Belgian railway stamps and find that lots of folks collect the stamps and the cancels. The 'search' function is on every page close to where you log in
They probably do have more value depending on location but it would be a relatively small field I'd imagine.
The advantage of this is there is less competition than you would find with more popular issues, that and you probably won't be spending enormous sums to build a good collection. If it was me I'd be buying in bulk and enjoy the sorting and the chase.
