BeeSee, you are alert this morning.

The yellow text only appears when I have to squish an image.
If the original image is below 92Kb, I post as is.
You are learning my secrets, Spock will be knocking your door
soon to sign the official secrets act.
He can be bought with Mint unhinged India.

I will go undercover and get some (I am cloaked right now so other members cannot see this message).

[Edited to correct spelling in Spock's name, it is a tough one to get right]

As with most things, the US have their own vernacular,
so "bottle mail" becomes "sea jug post"

From ebay

I thought I'd just add this for the record.
First time I have heard the Columbus story.

Another peculiar kind of post was the so called "bottle post" that is so characteristic of
the adventure novels by Jules Verne. The message corked up in bottle or cask had
only a slight chance of reaching the addressees. Some messages were discovered
years later, like the message thrown into the ocean by Columbus that was fished out
by a captain in the Straits of Gibraltar.
